"A story of a passionate love affair, murder,
and the famous Pottsville heist."
This is the story that many people didn’t want published. There seemed to be too many unanswered questions. The Philadelphia Mob, headed by Nick DiAntonio, robbed the residence of Tony Russo of over a million dollars. Russo lived in the borough of St. Clair, Pennsylvania, and operated ten prosperous hoagie shops in Schuylkill County. DiAntonio was confident he had committed the perfect crime.
When needed, the Mob pulled the strings and turned the screws of power and influence. As a result of the robbery, two men who were involved in the burglary were murdered. The glamorous and beautiful Lillian Ricci and a country boy named Mud Garrish were indicted for the crime. What ensued was the most publicized murder and robbery trial in the history of Pennsylvania.
The police in Pottsville and Philadelphia believed that because much money was involved, there could be a scheme of money laundering with the help and influence of the mob. That theory would play out as the story of Lillian unfolds.
The Tiffany Club in center city Philadelphia was owned by the Mafia. At the age of twenty-one, Lillian Ricci became the mistress of Nick DiAntonio. When he opened the Tiffany Club, she became the front person and Madame of ten of the prettiest and most expensive call girls on the east coast.
Bill Whalen, who worked for Tony Russo, made frequent visits to the Tiffany Club. His favorite girl was Judy Evans, better known as Miss Judy. After a few drinks, he became talkative and told her about the money Tony Russo kept in his house. Russo’s father lost his home when the banks closed during the Great Depression. As a result, Russo didn’t believe in banks. This information, passed on to the Mob, eventually led to the robbery.
Nick DiAntonio, head of the Mob, lost the love of his mistress to Mud Garrish, a young man, originally from the small village of Cumbola in the heart of the anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania. When Lillian Ricci fell in love with Mud Garrish, their lives were changed forever. What follows is a story of a passionate love affair, robbery, blackmail, brutality, retribution and assassinations.
Two of the men who robbed the residence of Russo were killed by the Mob. Mud Garrish, third member of the robbery team and key to the trial and conviction of Lillian Ricci, fled the city and traveled to parts unknown.
Follow the exploits of Garrish as he endeavors to evade the far-reaching power and influence of the Mob. There’s an exciting climax and surprise ending to this tender and sensuous love affair.
The story of Lillian is a fictional novel with fictional characters. Any similarity between actual individuals and those fictional characters portrayed in Lillian are purely coincidental.
